How do I setup IMAP for Mac OS X 10.5?1. When you open Mail for the first time, you will be prompted to configure it to retrieve your e-mail. 2. You will be prompted for some general information about your e-mail. * Enter your full name in the "Full Name" field. * Enter your e-mail address in the "Email Address" field. * Enter the password for your account in the "Password" field. ![]() 3. You will be prompted for information regarding the retrieval of new mail. * Select "IMAP" as your "Account Type." * Enter whatever you would like to for "Description." * Enter "imap.1and1.com" in the "Incoming Mail Server" field. * Enter your login name in the "User Name" field. * Enter the password associated with your account in the "Password" field. ![]() 4. The use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is recommended when available. ![]() 5. You will be prompted for information regarding the sending of outbound mail. * Enter "smtp.1and1.com" in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field. * Check the box labeled "Use Authentiation." * Enter your login name in the "User Name" field. * Enter the password associated with your account in the "Password" field. ![]() 6. Again, the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is recommended when available. ![]() 7. You will be prompted to confirm your mail server settings.
