Where can I find general DynamicSiteCreator help?


Below is a description for each of the areas of the DSC editor.

Content

Use the editor as you would any word processing program to add and format text.

Click on the page name to open that page. Then click in the text area to work on
that text. Use the icons found in the toolbar for the following functions:

* Change the font type and size.
* Put words in bold or italics or underline them.
* Align paragraphs and change line spacing.
* Make bulleted lists.
* Indent lines.
* Change the text color.
* Add hyperlinks, images, clipart, and sounds.
* Insert extras (forms, surveys, etc.)

1&1 DynamicSiteCreator Plus offers you the following additional features:

* Use your own music selection
* Integrate a search function (under Insert Extras)
* Offer a site map function (under Insert Extras)

Make sure to save your changes using the icon in the toolbar.

The names of the pages can be changed under the menu item Page Structure.


Layout

Select the layout of your website's pages. Choose a template, main image, navigation
setup, and an intro.

If you have not yet created a layout, you can use the Layout Wizard which will take
you through all 4 steps.


Design

Choose the design for your website and then select the color.

The templates are grouped together by category. After choosing a category, the
templates pertaining to it are displayed. Use the scroll bar to find the design you
would like to use. You can double click on a design for a closeup view. The
available color schemes for that template are then displayed. Choose one and click
on OK.

If you change your mind, you can select a different design. To return to design, at
a later time, click on Layout in the left navigation bar and then on Design.


Main Image

Choose the main image to be used in your website.

The image will be automatically placed in the design template that you have chosen.
Click on OK.

If you change your mind, you can select a different image. To return to main image,
at a later time, click on Layout in the left navigation bar and then on Main Image.

If you have selected own key visual, when editing the content click on the paint can
to change the background, on the area itself to change the picture, and click on the
T icon to add text to the key visual.


Navigation

Choose the way for your visitors to navigate in your website.

The navigation setup will be automatically placed in the design template that you
have chosen. All setups have two levels of navigation, which allow you to choose
the combination of horizontal or vertical navigation that you prefer. Click on OK.

If you change your mind, you can select a different navigation setup. To return to
navigation at a later time, click on Layout in the left navigation bar and then on
Navigation.


Animated Intro

Select an animated intro for your website.

The animated intro will play when visitors first log on to your site. It is
automatically placed in the design template that you have chosen. The visitors will
see the intro and then be able to enter your website. The intro includes a Skip
Intro button for those visitors who do not wish to see it. Click on OK.

If you change your mind, you can select a different animated intro. To return to the
animated intro at a later time, click on Layout in the left navigation bar and then
on Animated Intro.

Page Structure

Change the structure or number of pages in your website.

Edit website title and website keywords. Entering this information will make it
easier for your website to be found by search engines on the Internet.

To add more pages to your website click on New.

With 1&1 DynamicSiteCreator Plus, you have unlimited pages for each website.

Each page that is currently in your website is listed on the left. Click on the page
you would like to work on and then use the buttons to the right to Rename and Delete
pages. Click on Save to save the changes as you are working.

Use the arrows to move a page up and down in the list and the left and right arrows
can be used to place a page on a different level. You can make a two level
navigation. When you are finished click on OK.

If you would like ideas for which pages you can add to your website click on Page
Suggestions.


Preview

See how your website will look in a browser window before putting it online.

By clicking on Preview in the left navigation bar a window will open where you can
see the current state of your website. You can click in the window to see different
pages.

Please note: Your changes will not go online until you Publish them.


Publish

Put your finished website online for the first time or include changes you have made
to it.

To publish your website just click on Publish. Confirm that you would like to
publish your website. The changes will go online immediately.

Each time you make changes to your website, you need to publish again. Please make
sure to check your website in the Preview before publishing it.
