How to make a connection to the server using Remote DesktopClick Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Communications -> Remote Desktop Connection 1. Enter the address of your server. (You can use the IP address of your server or a domain name). 2. You will be prompted for a user name and password. User name is "Administrator" and your password can be obtained from your 1&1 Control Panel. See also the FAQ: How to find my server information A "session" with its own desktop is created on your server for each connection. The session is ended only after you log off from the server. If you simply close the Remote Desktop window the session is still maintained, including all running programs. A maximum of two concurrent sessions may be open. Other attempts to connect are blocked. For this reason you should always close (log off) sessions that are no longer needed. You can log off from a session as follows: In the Terminal Services Manager on your server click Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Terminal Services Manager. You can see how many sessions are currently in use and can close ("Log Off") each of them if necessary. |
