Activating the Windows Server 2003 servicesFor safety reasons, the ports on your Windows Server 2003 are closed on delivery. Before you can use the server as a webserver you have to activate the required ports. Please follow these instructions: 1. Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel at: https://admin.1and1.com If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the relevant package to reach its Administration page. 2. Select Server Access Data from the Server Administration section. ![]() 3. Using the information under Remote Desktop Login Data make a connection to your server using Remote Desktop. ![]() 5. Once successfully logged in, you will see the desktop of your Windows Server 2003. To activate the required ports, double click Activate Default Filter Rules icon on the desktop. Please follow the displayed instructions closely. ![]() The following ports are opened: Port 80/443 (HTTP/HTTPS) Port 20/21 (FTP) Port 25 (SMTP/Mail) Port 3389 (Remote Desktop) Never deactivate the remote Desktop Filter. If you do, you will not be able to connect to your server. |
