How do I modify the DNS of a domain?DNS management should only be used by advanced users. You can completely control the name server settings of your domains. You can use your own or other non-1&1 name server. You can choose up to four name servers of your choice. In case you have only one name server available, please use the 1&1 name server as secondary, since at least two name servers are required by the registry. NOTE: If you initiated a transfer of registrar for your domain, you cannot update the DNS. At any given time there can be only one process. To manage name servers please follow these instructions: 1. Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel at: https://admin.1and1.com If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the relevant package to reach its Administration page. 2. Select Domains from the Basic Settings section. ![]() 3. Select your domain. Click the arrow next to DNS and select Edit DNS Settings. ![]() 4. If you want to modify the name servers choose My name server. Enter the primary and secondary name servers and click OK. ![]() 5. A confirmation is displayed. ![]() If the DNS information entered is correct, it will be updated in 24 hours. SD1B909 |
