Transfer of registrar
Article #17
What does the domain name transfer process entail? What follows below is the step by step domain name transfer process: 1. You sign up for a domain name on our main site or in the 1&1 Control Panel. 2. We send an e-mail to the contact listed in your domain name’s contact details. This is also referred to as the WHOIS information. 3. The e-mail has a link in it that needs to be clicked. This confirms the transfer. 4. We check to see that the domain name is unlocked and if it is then the transfer begins. It can take 7-10 days for the transfer to complete. If we are unable to e-mail you at the e-mail address listed in the domain’s contact details then we will start the PDF transfer process: 1. 4. The e-mail is never received by yourself so we send you an e-mail with a PDF attached. This e-mail is sent to the address you supplied to us when you created your 1&1 account. 5. You print out the PDF, fill it out and fax it back to us along with a valid ID (Drivers/Non-Drivers License). 6. Once we receive the fax we check to see that the domain name is unlocked and if it is then the transfer begins. It can take 7-10 days for the transfer to complete. Note: If the domain name is locked we will send you an e-mail and you must contact your registrar to have it unlocked. A transfer can fail if the domain name is locked or if is not released to us. In both cases you will want to contact the other registrar. Find out more... How do I transfer a domain to 1&1? SD1B320 |
