How long does it take to move a domain from one package to another?


It takes a minimum of 48 hours to move a domain from one package to another from the time of approving it if the domain is moving from one customer's account to another customer. This is based on the account number and not the person's name that is on the account as there can clearly be more then one person with the same name. So if the account numbers are different then this applied.


If both of these packages are under one customer ID and later is not selected, it can take 4 hours to complete. When you start a package to package transfer from inside the 1&1 Control panel you are prompted whether you what this change to occur. If you choose now then 4 hours. If you choose later so you can recreate email addresses or subdomains as these are not moved with the domain from one package to another then you will need to choose later. If you choose later you will need to come back to the Domain Overview when you are ready for the move to start and start the transfer, and then 4 hours later the move should be complete.
