New e-mail address
Article #5
How do I create a catch-all e-mail account? With 1&1's catch-all function, incoming e-mail with misspelled or incorrect names can be sent to a special account or forwarded to your normal account rather than being returned as undeliverable. E-mail addressed to your domain name will always be delivered, even if the first part of the address is wrong. A catch-all address is simply your domain name with an asterisk in the first or local part. For example a catch-all address looks like this: *@domain-of-your-choice.com *@justonedomain.com To create a catch all e-mail address, follow these instructions: 1. Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel at: https://admin.1and1.com If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the relevant package to reach its Administration page. 2. Select E-mail from the Basic Settings section. ![]() 3. Click on New in the toolbar. ![]() 4. Enter the first (local) part of the e-mail address as * (asterisk) and choose the domain or subdomain from the drop-down list. Create a separate mailbox or choose forward and type in your main e-mail address to have the e-mail delivered to your normal account. Click OK. ![]() 5. The last page confirms that the process is complete. ![]() The e-mail address will be operational in the next 5 minutes. |
