Why did my website and e-mail stop working? This could happen for the following reasons: 1. If your website shows a message "Error 400" and your e-mail has stopped working then this usually means that your account has been frozen by our billing department. Normally this means that we have not been able to get payment from your card. It could be due to a change in card, that your card has been stolen and then re- issued, or simply that the card has expired. You can update this information in 1&1 Control Panel in the User Data section. The billing team will be able to remove the hold on your contract and all will be backup and running in around 3 – 5 hours under normal circumstances. None of your files will have been deleted and the domain name(s) is/are safe. However to get your site and e-mail working again, you will need to contact the billing department. 2. If you go over your monthly traffic limit and if we don't have a valid Credit Card on file for you, your website will be automatically frozen. If you wish to reactivate your site, you have the option of purchasing an additional traffic amount. You must supply a credit card and you will be billed at $.49/GB. |
