How should a name server resolve?

A name server that you are choosing has to be an FQDN (fully qualified domain
name). This means when using a reverse lookup of the domains, a record has to
resolve to that of the name server domain.

You can test this at the website DNSstuff or follow the FAQ: How do I check if the name servers (DNS) are
correct?
