What is FTP?

FTP means File Transfer Protocol.
The objective of FTP is to transfer files and data reliably and efficiently from
one place to another. You would use FTP to upload or move files from your system
to the 1&1 web space.

There are many tools available for FTP. A few of them are:
WS-FTP
WISE-FTP
CUTE-FTP
FETCH
INTERNET EXPLORER

WISE-FTP can be downloaded from your 1&1 Control Panel at no additional cost.
Login to your Control Panel. Click Downloads from left navigation menu.
(You can also find the downloads link under Administration)
Please read the Clickwrap Agreement and then accept the agreement to gain access
to the download area. The software for download will pop up. WISE-FTP is listed under
Browser and FTP. Check FAQ: Where can I download the software?

The FTP main user name cannot be deleted.
