How to change the file permissionsThe following instructions are for changing file permissions in a Linux hosting package. WS-FTP 1. Make a connection to the server using WISE-FTP. Follow instructions in FAQ: http://faq.1and1.com/web_space__access/ftp_account/ws_ftp_guide_/index.html 2. Now right-click the file for which you wish to change the permissions and select Properties. ![]() 3. Set the permissions by checking the appropriate boxes or change the numeric value directly.
