How can I use WS_FTP Pro to create a set connection between my machine and my 1&1 Webspace?

Prior to creating a set connection via WS_FTP Pro, please ensure you have your FTP
user name and password available (Check FAQ: What is the required information for FTP connection?).

When loading WS_FTP Pro for the first time, you would not have had the chance to
create a set connection between the program and your web space at 1&1 Internet,
this article shows you the settings you need to input in order to gain access to
your web space.

1. As you have not yet configured a connection to 1&1, you will need to create a new connection, click Create Site.

2. Enter the name you want this connection to have, here we will call it "My 1&1 Space", click Next to proceed.

3. Enter the host address to which you want your site published to, this is always simply your domain name without any www. prefix, for this example we want to upload some files to the site www.1and1-sample.com, hence the host address will simply be 1and1-sample.com. Click Next.

4. Here you must enter your FTP user name and password , enter the FTP user name in the top bar and the FTP password in second. If you do not want to enter the password every time you connect, check the box save password (although if you are on a multi-user PC this is not recommended). Click on Next.

5. Leave everything as it is and click Next.

6. Make sure Passive Mode is checked in.(This is for Firewall and DSL modem compatibility). Click Finish to complete the set up.
